点评:Fun and interesting rainy day activity. Small museum highlighting the life and exploits of Mel Fisher/ successful-only- after-MANY-years scuba diving treasure hunter and his family (his wife was fascinating too!). At entry, there is a brief film ( running continuously, on a loop) to provide historical context and set the stage.
The traditional museum portion has a wide variety of exhibits and artifacts, though it feels a tad "dated". The information posted is informative and provides good context (though lots of rather obvious typos ). Most of the exhibits are in cases so lots of reading and looking at stuff, very little other activities. There is a booth with a media display to select sunken ship sites, but it's not very engaging. There are some ropes you can play with to ties different nautical knots. You can touch and lift a gold bar which was kinda cool by the museum exit ( and entrance to the ubiquitous gift shop).
Admission for adult =$12, Sr =$6, kids =$4, reasonable.
Outside on the oceanside (opposite the parking area) is a very cool mural that is well worth the walk around the building
Bottom line: good and informative stop for an hour or so on a rainy day. Only fair for kids who would need more interaction and engagement.
If you found this review helpful, I would appreciate a thumbs up.
