Delight for Birdwatchers, Cool Serene Joy for All
Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary的点评
点评：After a 2hr drive from Chennai, I reached the Bird Sanctuary by 10am. Car parking is easy, entrance ticket just Rs.10/head, mobile phone Rs.50. Clean cool drinking water & paid Restrooms /public Restrooms are available inside the Sanctuary.
A shady well-paved pathway borders the entire stretch of water surrounding the breeding greenery & marshes. Walking along the pathway is a joy in itself. Binoculars on hire aplenty at the premises ensure a close look at the birds in their nesting places across the waters. Several Watchtowers extending over the waters’ edge give an overview of the vast breeding grounds. Viewing platforms over the waters’ edge enable a closer position to watch the frenetic activity of all the birds. The overall quiet silent ambience enable to listen the constant hum of bird chatter & multitude of bird calls all along the walkway.
Next to the Ticket Booth a large cool hall with comfortable seating offers 2 dozen large video screens describing the vast variety of birds breeding at the Sanctuary.
There is no restaurant at the Sanctuary.
Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary with its awesome variety of birds is surely a Birdwatcher’s paradise. For everyone else, of all ages, the Sanctuary is a cool calm comfortable place to observe thousands of a large variety of birds actively excitedly living peacefully together.
