点评:A very challenging but rewarding trail. We started at the bottom (La Luz Trailhead) and hiked to the top (Sandia Crest); it took us about 5 hours to cover the roughly 7 miles. The scenery was incredible but it's not a trail for the faint of heart (or faint of breath for that matter). The last 3 miles or so were the most challenging; they were the steepest, most uneven surface and the air thinning at high elevation was felt the most. Definitely take plenty of water and food; also be sure to have sturdy hiking shoes. Unless you are a hiker experienced in steep trails and in good shape, I recommend starting at the top to hike down rather than starting at the bottom to hike up. Both ends of the trail are fairly remote so it may be a challenge to get a taxi or Uber; we ended up hitchhiking from the top.
