点评：This is the parish church of Cogne dedicated to Sant'Orso. Well worth a visit although it deserves a renovation. Beautiful typical Alpine church with various baroque decorations, especially beautiful altar painting of the Virgin of the Assumption and statues of saints. Parishioners were friendly, enthusiastic young priest celebrating mass accompanied by local choir.
The church has a rectangular plan, with a domed presbytery octagonal. The interior, with a single nave, preserves precious eighteenth-century carved and gilded wooden altars with twisted columns. The main altar is embellished with rich baroque decoration and has a canvas in the center depicting the Virgin of the Assumption, welcomed into heaven by the SS. Trinity, and the saints Orso and Biagio. The statues of Saint Anselm and Saint Nicholas (on the sides of the canvas) and a high-relief representation of the Assumption (at the top of the altar), as well as a magnificent tabernacle entirely gilded and in turn embellished with statuettes of saints, complete the exceptional composition artistically. Characteristic mountain church and is beautiful to visit.
