点评：My wife and I had always dreamt of visiting Shillong, the "Scotland of the East." Our journey through Meghalaya had already taken us to breathtaking places like Cherrapunji, but Shillong View Point turned out to be a different kind of magic.
Located within the Indian Air Force Base, Shillong View Point offers a panoramic view of the entire city, nestled among rolling hills and lush greenery. As we ascended towards the viewpoint, the cool mountain breeze and the scent of pine trees filled the air. The excitement grew as we reached the top, where a telescope awaited to enhance our experience.
The view was nothing short of spectacular. Below us, Shillong spread out like a painting—tiny houses, winding roads, and the sparkling Umiam Lake in the distance. The clouds rolled over the hills, casting fleeting shadows, making the scenery look surreal. We stood there, hand in hand, soaking in the beauty of the moment.
After spending a peaceful hour, we made our way back, reminiscing about our earlier adventures in Cherrapunji—the roaring waterfalls, mist-covered valleys, and the living root bridges. Shillong View Point was the perfect place to reflect on our journey, reminding us why Meghalaya remains one of the most enchanting places to visit.
