A Dreamland for Hello Kitty Fans — Plan Ahead for a Smooth Visit

点评：Sanrio Puroland is a magical indoor theme park for Hello Kitty and friends, but it does take some planning — especially if you're visiting with toddlers. Located in Tama Center, it’s about an hour by train from central Tokyo, which made the commute a bit tiring for our kids. Definitely allow some downtime after your visit.
Once inside, it’s a whimsical and colorful world packed with shows, character meet-and-greets, themed rides, and adorable food. We highly recommend arriving right at opening — Fast Passes for popular attractions (like Kuromi greetings or the boat ride) are limited and sell out quickly. These passes are distributed at vending machines inside the entrance, and you’ll need cash. Some meet-and-greets are free but still require a timed entry ticket.
We had lunch at the Sanrio Cafeteria, which had fun character-themed meals. We ordered the kids' meal (which came with a souvenir bento box), vegetable curry, and chicken karaage for extra protein. Staff were very kind when we asked about ingredients — they even brought out a full binder so we could check for pork. They were more than happy to customize the kids’ meal to suit our dietary needs.
Tickets were cheaper when booked online in advance — we used Klook, but options like KKday or Pelago also work. Kids under 3 are free, but from age 3 they pay the same price as adults. Entry is by QR code, and it's best to book as early as possible, as some dates do sell out. Also note that Puroland is closed on certain Wednesdays or Thursdays, so check the schedule before going.
One fun little surprise: there’s a Shimajiro statue near the entrance — our kids are fans, so it was a sweet bonus photo stop.
