点评：I want to preface this with a shout out to the staff who were amazing, especially James (beard), Michael, Lynsey, Josh and all the restaurant staff. but im afraid overall I was not impressed at all. you really are paying for 5 PLUS star and getting 2 or 3. the internet is terrible - again customers should be warned about this its a pretty essential feature these days. the MOST disappointing thing was the room. when you're paying well over £240 a night you really do expect something better - I was given a tiny and very silly put you up bed for my son when we should have had one large bed and one small (we are 3). Not a "suite" at all - frankly premier inn would have better accommodated us. portions at breakfast are far too small. they clearly either dont have enough staff or the ones they have are not properly trained. SUCH a shame cos this really could be an "outstanding" hotel, but is very far from it. agree with previous reviewer about the infrastructure being very tired and outdated. which honestly I wouldn't have minded - had I not been charged an arm and a leg for the stay. no warm greeting -on arrival was left to lug my own bags and find my room (no easy task) - no help from staff. dinner at linden tree pub was also very expensive. pool very small. great for splash around for small children, no good for lengths or exercise. cannot beat the view - the grounds are immaculately maintained and all the staff and guests are lovely. but I will be staying elsewhere next time based on value for money alone.
