点评:Maybe I caught the ducks on a bad day, but I'd hoped for so much more after hearing how famous this parade was.
I got to the hotel nice and early - about 45mins before Duck-Off and even then some people had got there before me. However, I got a good standing place right at the red carpet and got my camera ready. Finally, the ducks started on the carpet to the lift.
...and then stopped for a look about
...then waddled a few more steps after being 'encouraged' by the Duck Master
...and then stopped for a preen
...a little prod and a few more steps
...then another stop
It's certainly not what I call a parade or march! All the ducks did eventually make it into the lift but not the procession I'd imagined it was going to be.
I followed up in the lifts for the view and to see the lavish duck house (that cost a fortune). However, the views from the roof are rubbish and the duck house windows are covered so it is hard to see in.
All I can say is that at least 'I Was There' and it is a something uniquely Memphis. If you have an hour of your life you don't mind losing then take a chance by all means - the ducks might 'perform' the time you go.
