Good Time at the Temple of the Python in Quidah

点评：Our group went to the Temple of the Pythons in Quidah, Benin. The Temple was small but the history of the voodoo religion in Benin is one that believes the python to be powerful and provides protection to their believers. They are not dangerous.
As we entered the temple we were asked if we wanted to hold the pythons. Before you could hold the pythons you had to wash your hands with water that the handlers provided. Those that wanted to go inside the compound, where the 50 pythons were housed you would have to remove your shoes to enter. Inside there were pythons clustered on the ground. Once you left the compound, the gift shop was close by the exit. The gift shop had alot of wonderful objects to purchase.
As we exited the temple you could see the Basilica of Quidah directly across the street from the Temple of the Pythons. The Catholic church did not believe in the practicing of Voodoo, but they both seemed to live together in the same historic site.
