点评:I had booked the Winterride for my 2 kids and myself in September and received a confirmation.
The day before the tour, I sent a reminder and got a confirmation again.
Once we arrived, the stableboy was not notified of the booking, there were no horses available. He tried to call his boss (the person I had emailed with several times?) but he/she didn't pick up the phone so we didn't get to ride.
In December there are only a couple of hours of daylight in Iceland. Our whole day was planned around the riding tour we had booked. I didn't receive a mail with an apology or anything afterwards.
After getting back home I wrote an email and the lady I made the booking with at first was unaware of what had happend.
I had to explain that we didn't get to ride. She said the reason for this was: 'I do the emails from another country so that is why it’s sometimes not easy to get informations through.'
I personally find this the lousiest excuse I have heard in a long time.
Not only did she ruin our last day in Iceland, she also gave me a very bad mood by stating this was the reason in the day and age of emails, WhatsApp etc.
She was not supposed to get information through long distance phonecalls, telegrams or pigeons. I had contacted her several times beforehand and still she didn't manage to get our booking to the stable to get our tour. I don't know how much more one should do but confirm the day before and you still don't get what you made a reservation for.
Overall a very disappointing experience, especially for my 10 and 12-year old. If I'm ever back in Iceland, I would definitely try to make a ride on the horses again but not at Hestheimar, even through she wanted to book us another tour. Chances are we would, again, be going home without sitting on a horse. Thanks but no thanks, Dehlia.
