点评:We’ve visited this park several times but won’t return. While the park is beautiful with spacious, private campsites, a somewhat rocky but nice beach, and modern facilities, the critter problem is severe! Skunks and especially raccoons are a huge issue. Raccoons here are fearless, often roaming during the day and invading campsites, trying to access food, vehicles, and even surrounding campers.
During our summer 2024 visit, we experienced the raccoon problem on a whole new level when a family of raccoons tried to enter our tent at 1:30 am, despite having absolutely nothing inside to attract them. Despite our efforts to scare them off, they remained unfazed. SEPAQ’s response was completely inadequate, asking US to monitor a trap they provided rather than addressing the issue more effectively. So this is our job?! We weren’t warned about the severity of the problem before paying but instead were told upon entry that there was a « problem » with them this year. There’s been a problem EVERY time we’ve visited! With the potential for rabies (many raccoons just across the border in the US have rabies, and the assumption by experts is that we likely have this problem here in Quebec now too), and the risk to our young children, SEPAQ should either shut down the park until the issue is resolved or at least inform customers in advance so they can make an informed decision. Camping isn’t exactly cheap these days, and their lack of transparency was unacceptable.
