What a shame it used to be so lovely and well kept as well as affordable.

点评：We have been spending time at Rutland water for at least the last 35 years, everything from cycling right around the water and peninsula with groups of friends and family to family picnics and hikes around the reservoir, lots of lovely memories shared with family and friends who are no longer with us.
We came for another adventure to find the place has been left to rot/run down! It’s not just because it’s January we often did our New Year’s Day walks at Rutland previously, this is a different level of non commitment to upkeep the place and standards have dropped so low! For instance the whole site where we were walking is completely dogs on leads. What a waste of space! So many rules now and no one enforcing them 50% of people were obeying the dogs on leads whilst 50% just had their dogs running loose - if you’re going to make so many rules you need to enforce them so it is fair for all.
Whilst walking along the path there were some workmen who had decided to chop through a hedgerow with some pretty heavy plant and drop it right next to the path where the public we’re walking with their families and dogs etc - I’d love to see his RAMS as there wasn’t even a sign or barrier in place and we couldn’t see him through the hedge till the plant was used!?! So dangerous please see pics if you don’t believe me. The sun was very low so hard to see but still can make out the close proximity of work area to the footpath - the cut bushes just about cover a bit of the path while people were using it!
To say in other comments on reviews that you low the very costly parking fees back into the park is utter rubbish as the gents toilets only had 1 seat between 2 toilets and the fixings are that rusted it’s been missing for months if not years- there’s been no investment at all except what looks like barriers that will lock your car in if you are later than 4 pm - so that means the park is now really expensive but anyone working can’t work and then drive there to enjoy a late afternoon early evening walk as you say you will lock people’s cars into the car park if they are still there at 4 although the exit barrier didn’t even work properly as we didn’t even need to put the ticket in to prove we’d paid?
So all in all probably our last time coming as we do not feel inclined to be mugged off by big business giving CEOs 1.3 million salaries and bonuses & leaving us with no toilet seats and putting our water bills up an extra £10 a month to pay your crazy salaries but saying you’re putting the money back into the park ru k I see zero evidence of this.
