Disappointing experience on Fota Golf
Fota Island Golf Club的点评
点评：Three friends and I played at Fota Island Golf Club yesterday. While we only play golf about once a year, we have played with a member occasionally and are familiar with the course.
Given that it was a midweek winter round, we expected the green fee to be reasonable—certainly no more than €80 at most. However, we were charged €120 each, which came as a shock. None of us anticipated that price, especially considering the time of year and day of the week.
With that price tag, we naturally expected premium conditions, but the course fell well short:
• Bunkers were completely unplayable
• The rough was soft and waterlogged, often swallowing the ball on impact
• Even on the fairways approaching the greens, the ball was plugging into the ground
• At least six greens were in poor condition, with only 50% playable surface
In hindsight, we should have requested a refund, as the course was simply not in a condition worthy of the price. We all left feeling ripped off, and it reminded us of the “Rip-Off Ireland” days before the economic crash.
Final Verdict:
Next time we want to play a premium course, it won’t be Fota Island.
