Worth making an effort to visit if you're in, or around, Johannesburg!
Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre的点评
点评:Wow! The dedication of the staff is enviable, I was very impressed.
My friend and I travelled by Uber from Pretoria on our last day in South Africa to the Centre. We joined an ad-hoc group of other visitors.
First we saw the 'cheetah run' - encouraging the cats to run as they would in the wild. We were fortunate as the equipment had been out of action for some time prior to our visit.
We then went around some of the compounds to view cheetahs which, for various reason, couldn't be released into the wild.
Next we boarded an open-sided 'truck' which took us around the larger compounds.
There was a couple of groups of cheetahs living in a more-natural state. (Visitors are not able to see those animals which can be released into the wild).
In another compound were some painted dogs - quite amusing and they make a really weird noise! In yet another enclosure were a pair of zebras and a herd of wildebeest.
Back at the main entrance we had a wander around to look at the various information boards before having a quick snack in the cafe.
