点评：Fantastic 4D3N experience through Borneo Outback Tours. It was the perfect combination of nature, adventure, and learning about Murut culture. Jojo was very helpful through emails. Our guide Rio was absolutely fantastic!!! He's very affable, knowledgeable and a great storyteller. We met some lovely local Murut guides (Jeswin, Stella, Root) and friendly drivers. We slept at a different camp/longhouse each night where a different local Murut family hosted us. The cuisine was great, especially for vegetarians and vegans.
The camps are tranquil and you wake up surrounded by a plethora of bird calls, geckos barking (yes, barking!) and the gentle sounds of the jungle. The accommodations were comfortable and the host families were very friendly. They shared their dances and traditional tapioca wine with us.
We stayed at MunorAulai guesthouse on the last day and received a tour of their eco-farm. Our guide Virgil was very knowledgeable and approachable, we really enjoyed talking to him. This farm is trying to optimize yield while maximizing biodiversity so they don't use chemical products and hopefully in the future this type of farming can be adopted as an alternative to monoculture palm plantations seen throughout Borneo. The farm is beautiful with various fruit trees, fish ponds, and panoramic views of rainforests. It's a very peaceful and hopeful place.
