Don't skip this awesome experience in King's Canyon!

点评：Boyden Cave is such a fantastic learning opportunity for everyone. It is an excellent excursion while in King's Canyon.
We had a wonderful tour of the cave in May. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and we all learned a lot on our trip. The staff working the store are the kindest! They knew so much and even taught us the names of the resident ravens.
The tour is no more than an hour, making it a perfect stop for families with kids young and old.
Some tips:
-The walk up to the cave is pretty steep. This is not an exaggeration. Your quads will be warmed up well by this walk. The incline is defined and at times challenging if you're not adjusted to altitude or the cardio. Give yourself a little extra time by arriving early and being the first when they drop the rope to enter the path.
-The views from the path to and from are amazing. Make sure you snap some photos.
-Visit in the off season for a better tour experience! Our tour wasn't too crowded, with 8 of us total. This made for a more personalized experience. Alternatively I would consider the private tour if you can. After visiting the tour I think it would be wonderful!
-The "Wild" exit. Bring water shoes (not sandals) to experience this! We didn't have ours and missed out. Definitely a regret and a reason to come back if we can.
- The gift shop is reasonably priced and features a lot of great merchandise. Support the cave (and your ornament collection) by stopping after.
-Let your kids ask questions. This is a wonderful education tour and encouraging them to ask their questions will only be met with kindness from the guide and new info for your kids.
