Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm的点评
点评：I have been to this farm several times, as I love to support local business in all ways. The first time I came here was back in July, when they were selling some of their sunflowers.
The staff here were very friendly and answered the many random questions I like to ask. I managed to pick a good sunflower to plant in the back garden over the summer, and it did not disappoint! It grew so well and for around £5 I was pleasantly surprised (supporting local business can be cheaper and can make all the difference, no matter how big).
I also took a visit to the farm later on in the year, as I had been waiting for their stock of local honey. I am a massive fan of taking honey in my cereal or tea (or on its own!), as there as some great benefits. And as I was only living in Bidston village at the time, it seemed only right to purchase some to help relieve my hay fever.
When I got to the farm, I was told that the honey had sold out, but could still get some down at the Birkenhead Market, so after going there, I purchased 2 jars of it, using one and gifting one. It was so very fragrant, with a floral taste of nectar and an aftertaste of pure golden sweetness - some of the best honey I have had in a while!
Despite only visiting the farm twice, I can say for certain that it is a wonderful place to visit for everyone, and I would highly recommend going when they open as it is more important than ever to support your local shops and businesses. The farm is free to visit but they do accept donations, including food for their animals, so if you have any spare carrots or such, please don’t hesitate to take it up there for them. The animals are lovely to see and as it’s only a small farm, you won’t get lost and it makes for a very scenic short walk!
