点评：This is the famous snake temple of Penang, which according to the history provided, a monk who does miraculous healing gave shelter to the snakes. When the temple was constructed in his honor, snakes started to come on their own thus giving the temple its name.
However, the snakes on the trees are not real, the same dummies on the trees can be seen hung indoor. A gimmick by the temple but also probably for the safety of the guests visiting.
Pros of visiting the place:
1) Visited on a Friday afternoon: not crowded
2) Near a branch of OO White coffee
3) Souvenir stores lined the entrance of the temple
4) no admission fee
Con’s:
1) steep price for taking pictures with snake
2) Cleanliness of the toilets not desirable with many big spiderwebs and spiders
Tip:
Location: near Airport (7-12mins by Grab), far from Georgetown (about 45mins - an hour drive)
If there is a bit of time before catching a flight, can stop over for a visit and eat at OO White Coffee. The temple takes about 5-10mins to walk around
