点评:They seemed to have undergone huge renovations over the winter and made big improvements (possibly in response to online reviews and feedback). Many of the cages/metal bars in the pics posted below are no longer seen and this massive zoo is very aesthetically pleasing to spend time in, with manicured grounds and well signposted paths.
However the proportions of some of the enclosures are far too small, namely for the giraffe, rhino and hippos. The stars of the zoo are the giant/red pandas and big wild cat who all seem animated and have oodles of space to roam. The poor giant turtles were in something that can only be described as a giant fish bowl which is wrong as they are migratory sea creatures genetically predisposed to travelling hundreds of miles - this needs addressing asap.
What would also be in the zoo's interest is to have zookeepers in uniforms visible gonghe public for Q&A, and for a educational centre for the children. They seem to be missing a key function of a zoo which is to promote wildlife and it's conversation. This would benefit them reputationally, and ultimately commercially.
I hope CQ Zoo continues on this improvement trajectory, taking further notes of improvement.
