点评:The Umgeni River Bird Park is an exciting Bird Zoo to visit. Located in Durban North, Riverside Road KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
It first opened in April 1984.
The park is opened daily from 9am to 4pm.
Plan your visit around the bird show which occur twice, weather permitting.
The Bird Park is situated on an old quarry site, set in a 3.5 hectare of lush tropical landscape that houses an ever-increasing collection of more than 800 birds from 200 species. Some species are endangered, the only of their kind left in Africa whilst others are commonly kept as pets.
Seeing the birds in cages is heartbreaking, some of them look lonely and sad. Preserving the park for the birds is of vital importance to the survival of these beautiful creatures. Please protect our natural habitat.
The park is particularly known for its Wattled Crane Breeding program—only 250 of the critically endangered birds are found in South Africa.
