点评:We went here as a side trip from Louisville while on Spring Break. It was a great activity that filled in some time. Even though tickets aren’t timed we only had to wait 20-25 min (we had just missed a tour). There is a huge gift ship with reasonable prices to kill time, including some photo ops outside as well as gem mining. There are clean bathrooms at the start (8 stalls in the women’s). The tour starts out with a short 10min film describing the cave’s history. Tour itself consisted of walking along constructed metal walkways and stairs, cave rock and a short boat ride. Inside the cave a camera takes your family’s photo and it’s available for purchase afterwards (only $10 — quite reasonable!) Very knowledgeable tour guide who was happy to take questions throughout the tour.
My only suggestion is that when the cave tour guide is pointing out something with her flashlight, to please consider keeping it pointed at the object as she is discussing it. She would peek the flashlight at an object and then quickly turn it off, such that by the time you looked in that direction you couldn’t make out any details. Not sure if the light is purposefully turned off quickly? If that’s the case then maybe at least leave it pointed longer, and/or flash a 2nd time for those towards the back. Thank you!
