Look critically, this isn't old growth and is really just a tourist stop for Game Of Thrones fans, not tree enthusiasts

点评:Assuming you're not a "Game Of Thrones" fan and want to visit because for a couple of days 10 years ago they filmed some scenes in a hut overlooking the sea, visit this with a critical eye.
Having visited many gardens and arboretums in many countries, this one isn't convincing. Firstly, half of it they show on the map is in fact outside of the grounds anyway. Secondly, the only really old tree is on the high street 200 yds from the entrance. An "ancient olive grove" they admit was actually bare land for decades and only replanted 20 years ago. The vast vast majority of the "ancient" trees are less than 8 inches diameter on their trunks, and the rest are barely a foot - the chances that many of these are older than around 1980 is zero. Staff when you point this out made excuses but were argumentative. There is one, and only one, managed area and the whole of that had box hedges that would embarass any half decent home gardener, yet alone a venue asking money for entry.
No, unless you're a Game Of Thrones fan wanting to see where some scenes were filmed, this is really a poorly managed garden that has largely had it's trees replanted in the last 30 to 40 years at best.
