Great sailing trip in BVI

点评：We had last been sailing in BVI almost 50 years earlier and wanted to see how much it had changed (A lot actually!) We reserved from BVI Yacht Charter a Sub Odyssey 440 which turned out to be brand new - we were only the second charterers on it. Because we couldn't fidn another couple to go with us at the time we were free, we asked the company for a captain for both guidance and an extra pair of hands. They connected us with Chris Simpson who had been in the various parts of the BVI sailing business for decades. Chris was fantastic and we strongly recommend him. He listened well to what our interests were and came with with places and activities that fit in perfectly.
The boat, tam elli, was new as stated above. It sailed very well and was well equipped. At the time we were in it the ventilation in the evening of the stern cabin we used was poor as as the 3 port holes were not in good place to catch breezes and the one fan was also poorly located.
When they say "bare charter", they are quite literal. Thus, until we explicitly asked, there was no dish soap, not hand soap, and no paper towels. Not really a problem, but wished we had known before we spent a hour at the nearby well stocked supermarket where we easily could had bought such things had we been aware of the need. The dock staff was able to give use the small amount we need, but we might have sailed without any....
