Beautiful views and nice castle. Worth seeing

点评：Super nice and friendly staff. I was so lucky this castle had just only opened for visits after so many years of being shut.
The hike to the top is not easy for most but if you are relatively fit it is not a strenuous hike from the old town, provided you allow enough time (and bring some shade cover on a hot day!).
You will pass the an old church carved out of rock, and you will be rewarded with breathtaking beautiful panoramic views of Taormina as you hike up and up.
I went at about 5pm and took my time and my pictures and I visited the castle which are really castle ruins but I love castles so it was worth seeing nonetheless. The castle itself shouldn't take more than 30 mins even if you explore every nook and cranny like I did. I also hung around the church for a bit and took some pictures.
By the time my visit at the castle ended, it was sunset and you will get the most beautiful views of Mount Etna on a clear day up there with gorgeous sunset views.
Outside of the castle there is a kiosk selling snacks and drinks but it is very expensive as there is only one but again, very nice views from there.
If you have time, please go as it is a nice distraction from the crazy crowd of tourists downstairs.
