Skip it - unless you are truly enthusiastic about Fez palaces
非斯葛洛伊王宫的点评
点评：The palace is interesting, impressive, reasonably priced (25 MAD = two to three USD or Euro), and within walking distance of other key sites in Fez.
So why does my title say "skip it?"
It's not because of the dog mentioned in numerous other reviews. I think the caretakers must have gotten the message from reviews here (or elsewhere) and they seemed to be making an effort to show the dog affection - at least during my visit.
The reason for my "skip it" review is this. If you have seen the several other more celebrated (and better restored) palace sites in Fez, I'm not sure there is need to see this one as well. I don't recall noting features here that stood out as strikingly different ("well worth making a detour for") vs. features in the better known and better restored palaces.
On the plus side: As it is less well restored, some people may find its state more "atmospheric." Because it is a less compelling site, it is less trafficked than other sites in Fez. Only one other family visited this palace during my visit. And I suppose it may be nice to visit this one too - to support the caretaking family and their dog and contribute funds that may be used for a fuller restoration.
As a tourist, I have a bit of completion anxiety - wanting to get to all the sites various sources recommended. That drove me to this site. My visit was not a bad experience at all (I gave it a non-negative rating). But if your time is limited and you've visited a couple of the more celebrated palaces in Fez, I think you can skip this one without feeling you've missed out.
