Fantastic little museum, full of local knowledge and Geography

点评：An excellent museam. Doesn't take long to look round but is full of interest bit of history. It is split across two rooms one for natural history/geography of the local area and one for human history.
We spend most time in the natural history side. I found the rocks and how Scotland was formed through I've ages and volcano interesting. The kids enjoyed the hands on table with skulls, frogs, bat and seal skins to hold and look at. It also made up for the fact we wouldn't let them touch a decomposing seal they found on the beach the day before. There were various questions on the table to help with they thinking. The two quizzes were great. Again the question were ideal and got them thinking and the dinosaur hunt made sure they looked in every display.
The gentleman who was working there was fantastic. He answered the children's questions, showed us the meeting room and let them ring the ships bell. He was brilliant and made our day even better.
There is a little shop which is has gemstones, fossil, jewellery and local information guides and books. Again the gentleman was very patient with my indecisive children which they parted with their pocket money.
At £5 for adults and children free it is well worth a visit and we all left knowing more.
