点评：Dev Prayag is a Sacred city in the state of Uttarakhand which is located at an elevation of 2723 feet's above sea level. Dev Prayag is one of the Pancha Prayag where Alakananda river and Bhagirath river and Become Holy Ganga River. This Raghunath temple is located near the confluence of both Rivers, which is one of the Vishnu Divya Desam's of 108. There are three Divya Desam's in Uttarakhand out of which this is one. Badrinath Badri Vishal temple and Joshimath Narsingh temple are other two Divya Desam's located in Uttarakhand.
Interesting things about Raghunath temple:
1. Raghunath ji temple is also called Tirukantamenum Kadi Nagar. It is believed that during the 8th century the temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya with the later expansion of the Garhwal Empire.
2. Raghunath ji Mandir enshrines a 6 feet Salagrama murti of Bhagavan Sriram. There is a murti of Garuda in front of the temple.
3. Legend has it that Lord Ram did penance here to atone for the killing of Ravana.
4. There are shrines inside the temple complex dedicated to Annapurna Mata, Hanuman and Shankaracharya. Life story of Rama and Krishna are featured on the walls of the temple.
5. There is a peepal tree on the premises that is said to hold special powers. it has withstand many disasters and is still where it has always been. Some people believe that lord Vishnu resides in the leaves of this peepal tree.
