点评:My boyfriend and I came here for 10 days in December. We rented a small place on Airbnb in Praia do Una, and we really weren't sure what to expect. We took a bus out from São Paulo, which took about four hours, and we are so glad we did! We did not travel with a car, and it was difficult for us to get to our Airbnb.. quite a story...a hint from us...just don't show up at night expecting a taxi or a Lift! But the next day we rented bicycles from a local named Zelito, and we were able to visit four different beaches, and also hike and bike to a number of different waterfalls.
From reading Tripadvisor we thought that we would be showing up to a completely undeveloped beach, maybe with a cabana or a food truck selling a few things on the beach -- because lots of reviewers complained about lack of amenities, and they described the location as being basically wilderness. That was definitely not the case. I don't know if the place has changed, or if it's just that the typical traveler is looking for comfort and more of a resort experience.... but we found that Barro do Una and the surrounding towns (several in very close proximity, 1 to 3 max miles away) offered all that we needed, and more: convenience stores, supermarkets, restaurants. canoe and bike rentals, and bars.
We loved biking around to visit waterfalls and beaches, but what we really loved was staying in Praia do Una away from people, listening to the storms and the birds & frogs each night. That was an unforgettable experience.
Zelito who rented us the bikes gave us the tip that there is an Indigenous guide who takes people around on various tours focused on understanding the Indigenous people of the region. We had two great days with this guide, showing us waterfalls that, as tourists, we never would have been able to find on our own. We visited an aldea which we were grateful for. I am not over exaggerating when I say that the taxi driver we eventually located to take us to take us from Juquehy to Praia do Una (Taxi Juquehy), Zelito in Barro do Una who rented us the bikes, and Indio Trilla who took us on the guided tour of the waterfalls, beach, and aldea, they all went over and above to help us have a good experience.
