点评:Bohol seems to be a place that promotes its main attractions, but then doesn't know how to back this up with a wonderful tourist experience. It looks, to me, as if it's a case of putting road signs up, a bit of promotion in posters and adverrts etc then just let the tourists flood in. That's great, but you need to put facilities in place for those tourists.
The Chocolate Hills has nothing but a manmade viewpoint up a load of stairs and a visitor area that is part car park part stalls full of tat.
Similarly, the Tarsier Conservation has a guided walk where you can get to see these cute little creatures but the whole experience needs expanded. A few chairs and a short film don't cut it. Get the info boards up, have interactive activities for the kiddies, have an actual gift shop (you'd make a fortune) rather than a few things on top of the reception counter. Oh and, most importantly, have a much longer walk than you get around the grounds.
I was expecting to be able to stroll pretty much at my leisure but the walk is heavily controlled 1) because tarsiers are nocturnal so not out and about and 2) almost impossible for tourists to spot. As a result, a guide takes you to the trees he knows where some tarsiers usually are or have been spotted earlier then hurries you back and out in about 10mins tops.
My 4 stars is for the delight of seeing these animals in the wild.
The sanctuary is probably a 2 star.
If it is difficult to see these animals without disturbing them then revamp your offering and don't try to sell it as a walk around a sanctuary. Do what they do in NZ with kiwis and have them in darkened rooms with special lights so you can watch behind the glass.
