A great day within a Roman fortress

点评：We started at the baths. These were very well presented, the effects making us all wishing for a dip in the inviting waters. The information displays were well laid out and the quizzes fun. The staff were very welcoming. There is no dedicated disabled parking and parking machines only take cash, the parking area belonging to the nearby pub.
There is a short walk to the museum, which is free. This is also well laid out and informative. The Birds eye video view was a great way to show the fortress in its heyday. There is also an outdoor Roman style garden, worth a visit and resplendent with its black cat.
We drove the short distance to the amphitheatre, which was stunning. However, the lack of any information notices left us only able to guess at what we saw.
The Roman barracks nearby was similarly striking but bereft of almost any information.
