Jhony Jungle is the King Louis of Ketambe.. what a guide! We had a fantastic time for 3 days with him in the jungle spotting orangutans, gibbons, Thomas leaf monkeys and more. It was wonderful to see the love and connection Jhony has with nature, and share some memorable conversations, experiences, and infectious laughter with him. The orangutans were magic, and we were lucky to see them every day with some close up encounters! And thank you to Agam our 5 star restaurant chef...you will not go hungry and you'll enjoy some incredible Indonesian foods! The camp is waterproof, comfortable and you get a private tent. Nature was our priority, but the hot springs was a lovely relax on the last day and they are surrounded by beautiful butterflies!
Jhony organised everything so getting to Ketambe was nice and easy, although long! Jhony even drove us himself to Medan airport, and it was the quickest 8 hour drive we've ever had thanks to the laughs and good chats! We hope to return, but next time in his own guest house if plans come together!
(A little note to finish: go to the jungle with patience. The trekking is two 2-3 hour stints in the morning and afternoon. If you're looking for a full trekking experience and going deep into the jungle, just ask Jhony for options...he is a big help with every question!).
