点评:We came here not for the beach but to see how this area looks like after the lava flow... WOW! It's amazing to see what nature did and how it "suddenly" stopped from completely swallowing this park/beach area!
My favorite part was the road that is CUT OFF BY LAVA - just for this unique experience this place is an absolute must - along with Kaimu Beach beach this is an absolutely must if you have time after the Volcanos NP or simply want to try something different - it definitely extends the driving as Big Island is BIG but it's so worth in my modest opnion!
For some strange reason there were plenty of cats, like a LOT a LOT of them in an area that I would not expect to see any - reminded me a bit of Azores with some vista point park stops where cats seemed to just call it home :) oh and of course we got to see some mongooses! Those guys always crack us up - this time actually one "invaded" the cat hiding in the rocks but it seemed like they are good friends and tolerate each other perfectly fine :)
There is a beach park and a beach but needless to say we didn't come for that so I can't comment on it...
