Small but Interesting Museum
Pakistan Railways Heritage Museum的点评
点评：Our visit to the museum was interesting in many ways. It is off the main thoroughfares and on the way there we actually saw cattle running through the street. Google Maps also took us to the wrong gate, where we could not enter - evidently you must enter through gate number 2. Upon arrival we found it easy to park as there was a huge parking lot with no other cars zero). The museum itself was locked as were the historic train cars and there seemed to be no one around (this was approximately noon on a weekday). Fortunately our local friend talked with a policeman that was nearby and just as we were leaving the gentleman in charge of the museum arrived,
From that point forward we had a great experience. The guide took us through the historic train cars that had been used by the founder of Pakistan. These were in amazing condition. Next was the large steam locomotive displayed outside. He then took us through the indoor portion of the museum, which is the historic waiting area. It houses some very interesting displays from the early days of the railway in Pakistan,
Overall, while the museum is small, it was delightful.
