Corbett Safari的点评
点评：Corbet for me was my second visit, for my better half it was first, her only previous sojourn in forest was at Kaziranga. For me the challenge, thus was to ensure that she gets a good feel about Forests. Corbett was her selection. And for us, Mr Saurabh of TravelGleams came like a Blessings. That's the beauty of web and information age. I got his reference there. And without his guidance at every stage, a tour of Corbet would not have been successful. He arranged for all the formalities at every stage, right from arrangement of safaris, arranging the accommodation, permits, Jeeps, it is pertinent to mention that the driver Mr Abdul he arranged of the Jeep was himself an excellent guide-cum-wildlife watcher and knowledgeable and immensely patient inside the forest so necessary to see wildlife. Saurabh understood our requirement and arranged to schedule at an easy and relaxing pace. His selection of the zones speak volumes about his deep insights about the forest. His advice about coming to Corbett avoiding the mad rush of year-end and new-year break worked really wonders as we could enjoy the forest without the cacophony of NY crowds. We drove around 300 kms and reached in late night. Stayed at Anugraha Homestays, located in Dhela Road. This is a thoughtful selection on Saurabh's part as for our Dhela Safari, Mr Abdul could pick-us up directly from the Homestay. The homestay itself was cozy, Mr Negi and his team comprising of his family makes it a Home-Away-From-Home literally. Our first day was Canter Safari. The Canter starts from Ramnagar in front of KMVN Tourist Lodge and one need to reach the starting point on ones own. Saurabh arranged it thru the Jeep of Mr Abdul. Canter reaches Dhangadi Gate, permits and IDs are checked there and next nearly 3 hrs inside is tour at a stretch with a short washroom break at Dhikala. Next day it was afternoon Jeep safari in Dhela Zone. Now Dhela is a small compact zone teeming with high density of wildlife and our first Tiger Sighting was here. And it was a majestic sight, the King of the Forest really moved across the road regally, menacingly, with an aura that befits only someone who is a class of own, the photos and videos speak more. Next came a Herd of Elephants with Cubs. The family moved quite close by and trudged across the corridor deep inside the range, seemingly oblivious of our presence. Such a luck it was, almost all sightings were coming very close to our camera. I also like to mention the name of Ms. Gulshan - a wonderful and knowledgeable forest guide - here it is important to mention that one forest guide will accompany in the Jeep Safari from the Gate of the Zone. The teamwork of Gulshan and Abdul was wonderful, both were knowledgeable and almost supplementing each other, which was essential for successful wildlife watching inside a huge forest like Corbett. This really contributed a lot in making our Dhela Safari an enjoyable one. Also we sighted flocks of Green Pigeons, Vultures, Herds of beautiful deers, Sambhar, barking deers, many other birds. Our third day was at Bijrani Zone in early morning Jeep Safari. It starts from Amdanda Gate. After checking of IDs and permits, safari starts from around 630 am and continues for 4 hrs. Now Bijrani is a huge zone, one shall be lucky in case of any sightings here, We waited for more than 1 hr on a riverbed for an elusive sight, in spite of calls, the tigress and her cub continued to hide inside the bush across the bed. But Bijrani was Beautiful, the way Nature unfolded in front of our eyes with daybreak was amazing. In fact, entire Corbett inside was dazzlingly beautiful in the crisp winter of January with flawless azure sky on top and green foliage underneath with mystic sunrays penetrating across the tree-covers. Rest of the stories as per the uploaded photos, in case if they get uploaded. In the end once again I would like to compliment Mr. Saurabh of TravelGleams for nicely arranging the entire tour for us.
