Larnaka Salt Lake的点评
点评：A couple of weeks ago, just a salt flat. Today, a salt lake, undoubtedly the result of a couple of massive rain storms in between. The flamingos were out in full force early this morning (21st November). Such beautiful birds! Mesmerising to watch.
Getting there:
1. By car or taxi.
2. By bus. The airport bus is probably the easiest. Just ask the driver to let you off at the stop nearest the lake.
3. On foot. If you like walking, as I do, it is super easy to get to the lake, although it’s a bit time-consuming:
- Head along Finikoudes promenade towards Larnaca Fort.
- Pass the Fort (on the seaside) and continue on along the Piele Paşa section of the promenade.
- At the end of Piele Paşa, continue on past the Xephyros Restaurant and keep going straight ahead.
- The road will eventually curve off to the right a bit and merge into a roundabout.
- Roundabout has a blue and white boat on display.
- There are a couple of roads leading off from the roundabout. Follow the road straight ahead from the rear end of the boat.
- Eventually, the road will become a T, at which point there’s a ‘life-saving’ traffic light.
- Cross the road and turn right, at which point you can already see the lake. Keep an eye open for best paths to the lake.
