点评:I was on a half day tour with Sur Tours and this was one of the places that we stopped at. It was the only pre-Inca site that I was able to visit during my 12-day Peru trip. The site reminded me of those from Arizona and New Mexico in the United States. The walls of the buildings were so tall.
The pre-Inca site of Pikillaqta is a complex entirely built in adobe during the Wari regime and has more than a thousand structures consisting of squares, colcas (food tanks), courts, homes, temples and long and narrow streets. Waris once dominated the coastal and central parts of Peru. Maize was produced in Pikillaqta and was believed to have controlled the whole region. Maize was so important for the Waris that they painted it in their potteries along with supernaturals & deities.
