点评:Being local, we typically visit twice a year with the kiddos. Centre’s within the exhibit typically change every couple of years, with new specimens/resources typically added yearly. There are washrooms on site as well as outside of the property in the event you decide to explore the harbour beach, a 3 minute walk down the road or to take a peak at the local fisherman boats.
A note that this Museum is listed as an “aquarium”, though there has not been a touch tank nor fish tanks for quite some time. That being said, this museum has something for all ages including taxidermy, ocean skeletons, a craft area for the littles and a cute telephone station where you can listen to different whale calls.
This is a great prequel to your whale watching tour down the hill from the museum. If whale watching is on your list of things to do, this is the place to do it! It truly is the whale watching capital of Cape Breton! You won’t get better sightings anywhere else.
This museum is fun, informative and has a gift shop on site with a lovely selection of books and local folk art. It’s worth it to stop by!
