点评:Called in Heskin Hall Shopping village last week as we were in the area and had never been. Loved having a mooch about and bought a few nice things. After doing a little research we read about The two birds tearoom and decided to book an afternoon tea for 2 for today.
On arrival we saw our table all set up and approached a lovely staff member who seated us and asked if we would like tea/coffee, then I think it was the owner who brought our drinks and I asked for a different cup as the one left at the table had lipstick on, wasn't a problem and he was really nice, however I don't think it's nice for customers to hear you berating staff for letting a dirty cup pass. Our food was then brought and I have to say it was delicious, everything about it was nice and tasty and very fresh. I don't even like mushrooms but thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom soup. My score of 4 is for all the lovely food we had. Sorry,
we felt totally let down by customer service, I know they were busy, but one staff member wasn't too busy to introduce her family to a little old lady whom I think was a regular in there, it seemed everyone gave her lots of attention but none of the other customers. No one came over to ask if everything was OK, I tried to make eye contact on numerous occasions to find out how we got the bill but no one came over. I wasn't going to queue again with people who were ordering and waiting for food.
We stood to one side of the counter and the lady (think she was an owner) just shot me a look and I asked could we pay to which she replied yes, rolled her eyes and looked towards the queue. The lovely lady who had taken us to the table had heard me and stopped what she was doing and came to take our payment.
The other owner the man was friendly enough but time and time again we heard him more or less having a go at staff to do this and do that. I felt sorry for them as they were all working hard. Customers don't really need to be hearing that.
It's ashame really as like I said the food was amazing, customer service goes a long way with that amazing food and unfortunately it wasn't good today.
