点评:During our time in Ilulissat, my wife and I visited the Art Museum. When visitors arrive they are requested to remove their shoes and leave them in the entrance area. Slippers are provided, though visitors can walk around in their socks if they wish.
The first floor featured an exhibit of photographs with the theme “I Am Inuit”. At the start of the exhibits was a thought provoking piece entitled “Who Is Telling The Story?” It invited visitors to think about some geopolitical issues including land ownership, colonization, exploitation of people and resources and other fascinating issues.
The photographs featured a variety if Inuit in candid shots in and around Ilulissat.
The second floor was the permanent exhibit that had paintings, small carvings and other items which provided insight into Ilulissat and Greenland’s natural history.
While not a large museum, the exhibits provided a pretty comprehensive history of Ilulissat, the Inuit and their history in Greenland.
