Fun and Unique Acadia Experience - Must Do
Land Bridge to Bar Island的点评
点评：One of the great things about Acadia is so many of its attractions are unique to the park and can only be done here. One of those things is a land bridge sand bar only exposed 4 hours of the day and submerged the rest of the time. However, twice a day you roughly have just over 90 minutes to cross it and see the island. With that said, do not overstay on the island or you will be left. The NPS makes sure you know this with all the signs they have.
We happen to visit in the late afternoon at sunset and the entire experience was surreal. It is strange to be walking on land that is submerged for the vast majority of the day. However, it is made for pictures, especially at sunset. All six of our party hiked onto the bar, but only 2 of us made it all the way across to the island. With that said, we did not stay long as we started late and knew the tide would so be coming in. Still it was a great experience and something so Acadia to do. Check out the tide tables before travel so you can make a plan to visit when the tide is low. We did get to see the bar underwater from the top of Cadillac Mountain.
