点评:Despite this being the second closest National Trust property to us, this was our first visit. Although beautiful, I can't see us making a return (we regularly go to Canons Ashby or Charlecote Park, for instance).
As has been said, the stucco work is amazing. The great majority of the assistants were friendly and chatty, although one or two could do with lightening up a bit! Most of them were very informative and there were lots of sheets to read if you didn't want to shell out for a guide book.
I'm currently not as mobile as I was, so skipped the walk to the obelisk but we did go down past the rose garden (although we'd probably missed the first flush) and down to the cascade.
Having forgotten our bottle of water, we really did miss a café! but we were aware from the guide book so bad planning on our part.
As requested, I left my camera bag with the guides at the door and didn't use my camera phone: it is still a private home so there are signs saying no photography.
