点评:Hopefully this is constructive criticism, I have been a long time active volunteer on various heritage railways so appreciate the efforts of your volunteers to keep everything going.
Your website adverised 50% discount on diesel days if booked online - nothing about 24hrs before. When I tried to do so on the rail journey to Newport it wouldn't apply the discount for on the day booking. Although the day manager tried to sort this for me he was unable online so had to take from the petty cash. A bit embarrassing. Just think your system needs tweaking!
The cafe was shut so no hot drinks, sandwiches, etc. With little else to do for visitors you are missing out on revenue.
The workshops and sidings, with all the interesting stuff to any rail nut were completely out of bounds despite asking one of your members. This is a common trend on heritage railways now but whats the point of preserving stuff if few get to see it? How do you expect to generate interest from potential new volunteers and how do you educate joe public to the work involved? Must be potential for guided tours/ pathways for viewing in safe areas?
If the cafe and rolling stock areas were open with staff to chat to about the projects then I would have felt happy to pay out the full fare after making the effort to visit from Derbyshire by public transport.
