Wembury Beach的点评
点评：Wembury beach is one of the closest beaches to the city of Plymouth. I would describe it as a small beach but not tiny.
view: there is a lovely view which includes the mewstone to the south/south west and the yealm estuary/mouthstone point to the east.
Beach goer density: Due to it's small size and proximity to Plymouth it can get crowded during the peak summer months. That being said i have never struggled to find a spot on the beach itself, the real issue is parking. The car park will often be filled by mid morning during high season and people will resort to parking on the road further up in the village. Although the residents will be disgruntled you can normally park within a 6-7 minute walk of the beach (longer to walk back up).
sand: the sand is a mix of softish sand, pebbles and sharper fragments depending on where exactly you are situated. In general it is fine for walking, playing football etc.
water calmity/clarity: This is dependent on wind, the tide and the sun. Generally the sea colour is quite good, i've seen better and worse in devon/cornwall. There are normally small waves but in general it's good for swimming and for children on bodyboards. At the extremes the sea can be dark grey with high waves ideal for surfing (although not a mecca). It can also be very still, blue and clear, great for snorkelling and paddle boarding.
There is a cafe and ice cream hut and free public use toilets.
