点评：UNTERMYER GARDENS CONSERVANCY…is a unique, tranquil and absolutely breathtaking garden to visit. It is worth the journey whether by car or train. Only about 55mins from NYC depending on your location and 1hr30-45mins via train.
If you drive, it’s best to head out early to get parking on property. If you take the train, it is about 26-30mins trek from the Greystone Station. Either way in order to enjoy the vast landscape I would recommend going from it opens that way you will capture the beauty around without many people in the background.
That being said UGC “Samuel Untermyer’s gardens in Yonkers, New York. Untermyer Park and Gardens is a City of Yonkers public park. He transformed the gardens and greenhouses into some of the most celebrated gardens in America. “
There are so many gardens/designated areas to wonder off into and enjoy nature at it ms best such as : WALLED GARDEN, THE VISTA, COLOR GARDENS, VEGETABLE GARDENS, RUIN GARDEN, TEMPLE OF LOVE to name a few.
During my trip there I was fortunate to meet a Yonkers local who shared a wealth of information re the property and advised me how to get to the cascading waterfalls by the temple of love. A must see when you visit. This trip was just to check it out… and take pictures but I will be back to enjoy the gardens to the fullest. There are designated areas for picnics. It also seems to be a popular location for newly weds. Prior Permission has to be received for professional photography, but leisure photography is permitted.
I have pinned this place as one of my new favorites to just relax and become one with nature. Check out their website for more details and their concert series.
