Lovely Larkmead!

点评：We are members at Larkmead and were eager to introduce our friends to the beautiful winery. They’ve enjoyed the wines at our home and we suspected they might become members …..and they did!
The winery is located in Calistoga and is surrounded by acres of vines which have been part of the property for years. Here the summer temperatures can rise well over 100 degrees, stressing the vines so they provide some of the best fruit…..which thanks to the skill of the winemaker becomes the powerhouse cabs which make a huge impression.
It was a chilly morning when we visited so we really didn’t want to go up close to the vines. That was OK because we could see them from three angles in the beautiful tasting room we sat in.
In April the Lillie Sauvignon Blanc releases and it’s got a big following. We enjoy it all summer long at home and can’t wait to add this year’s vintage to our wine room. The wines are not inexpensive but for the quality are more than reasonable. This is not a big production winery - tremendous focus is placed on achieving high quality and it shows in each glass.
This winery should absolutely be on the top of every list for visiting in the valley!
