点评：DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY - Go with a Local, Small Tequila Distillery Instead
As a Mexican living abroad, taking foreigners on the José Cuervo Express was an incredibly disappointing experience. What was once a tequila icon now feels like a complete mistake. It's not just that it's turned into a tourist trap; it's shocking how low the industry leader has set the standard for the tequila experience.
The tequila tasting was terrible. With so many high-quality products in their portfolio, what they offered was nowhere near representing the best they have. To make matters worse, they end the experience with a margarita made from a cheap commercial mix when you would expect something authentic and worthy of Tequila’s heritage. It’s frustrating to think this is the impression foreigners are left with about our tequila culture.
Everything started off poorly, arriving at a rundown bus terminal where the buses reeked of neglect. From there, everything felt rushed, as if they had such a large crowd to process that they were just trying to get people through as quickly as possible.
The artistic and cultural presentations felt meaningless and uninspired. To top it off, the facilities were under repair, and they weren’t even cooking agave during the visit, something they conveniently failed to mention when we paid. This made the whole experience feel like a poorly executed tourist trap designed to sell you an overpriced ticket without any real concern for meeting expectations.
We were so disappointed that we didn’t even bother getting on the train at the end. My recommendation: Hire a guide or transportation to explore the town of Tequila and visit smaller, local distilleries. That’s where you’ll find authentic experiences that truly honor tequila and our culture. Don’t waste your time or money on something as mediocre as this.
