Greencombe Gardens的点评
点评：Had great expectations of Greencombe after seeing photos and reading reviews but we were left disappointed?
It was an hour drive from where we lived and the sign posting wasn’t exactly brilliant but after negotiating a very uneven pot holed lane to the gardens approach, we arrived.
Parking was an issue if it’s a busy day so be aware,immediately you are drawn by the fantastic views across the bay and the lush green fields.
After paying the entrance fee we were briefly informed of the gardens history and how to explore around the site,but unfortunately not given any helpful map?
Following our long drive there was no toilet facilities or any refreshments on offer which was a very poor show!
The immediate garden was interesting with some well established tropical species along with a veg garden etc.
The Rhodadendrums ,Camelias and Acers were in bloom but going over by end of May,so an early April visit would be more exciting.
The pathways were quite dangerous in places and certainly not for visitors with walking difficulties or wheelchairs,there could be many more improvements made and facilities offered in our opinion considering it’s advertised as a garden of special significance as an attraction for tourists and enthusiasts,we were left feeling very disappointed and couldn’t wait to find the nearest restaurant with the full facilities on offer one would expect these days.
