点评：Tamil Nadu government managed Museum.
Established since colonial period which the structure itself reveals .
This Museum has Six different halls displaying Anthropology, Archeology, ancient sculptures made from stones, bronze, coin collections, Botanical, Zoological, Art work of various artists, paintings of Raja Ravi Verma, Children knowledge hall, with few working models to view
Couple of halls were under maintenance hence access is partial, few exhibits located in upper floors remained closed.
Famous Connemara Library is located in same campus of the Museum
Children aged between 5 and 18 must visit to understand culture, heritage , science, history and arts. Would need minimum 6 hours to see thoroughly and leisurely
There’s a good cafeteria located in north rear corner
Plenty of parking space, plenty of shaded seatings, large empty spaces, gardens, refreshment stalls, wash rooms.
There’s a museum theatre available on rent to conduct events and functions.
‘STORYTRAILS’ QR based app feature as audio guided tour is present at all exhibit halls. But pathetically doesn’t work, because its gossiped that vendor’s subscription is not paid yet by govt.
Excellent place to spend one whole day with family and children
Be prepared to walk a lot, stand for long hours to see exhibits and ensure to remain hydrated
