Podium finish & pole position rolled into one

点评：I’m the only member of my family who isn’t into motor racing, but this experience may have just turned me into a fan.
Our guide, Chiara, spoke excellent English and provided interesting information throughout the tour. Her personable approach enhanced our enjoyment of the tour and she kept a good pace without rushing the group.
The tour was limited to a small group of 8 and covered all the main bases: an introductory overview of the track’s history; two laps of the track (the second lap included stops to exit the van for photos); a walk thru the pits; the control/screen room and finally, the podium.
We were lucky to get a last-minute booking for 4 people - there were no vacancies for the rest of our Bologna stay. I’d recommend booking in advance if this is something you really want to do.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I’m looking forward to watching a race televised from here.
Side note:
Public transport from Bologna to Imola didn’t appear to be straight forward. We hired a rental car for two days in Bologna to do this tour (Avis/Budget near the central train station). This allowed us to also visit Ferrari the following day.
We initially booked a car thru Europcar online, but it wasn’t made clear that an international driver’s licence was required. Luckily Avis/Budget (almost next door) only required a passport & our Australian driver’s licence, and they had a car available on the spot. They also provided great service (as opposed to the indifferent service we received at Europcar.)
