much nicer than amber fort; no harassment, no abuse of elephants

点评：This place is so much nicer than the amber fort. We didn’t go to the amber fort because of all the negative publicity regarding how much you’re harassed there, even being spat on, if you don’t hire one of the tour guides out front. We also opted not to go because of the cruelty and abuse of the elephants in order to provide elephant rides! So, we bypassed amber fort and went straight up to jaigarh.
This place is very peaceful and impressive. The views are exceptional – you can see everything since it’s so much higher up than amber fort.
Definitely negotiate with your driver before they take you up. Apparently, there’s an upper level and a lower level. Make sure they drive you to the upper level. It’s somewhat remote up in the mountain, so it’s a good idea to hire someone to take you there, wait for you, and then drive you back. We had no trouble, but i’d still recommend paying once you get back to your hotel.
The bathrooms were some of the most disgusting we’ve ever encountered, and remember to always take toilet paper in your pocket before you visit sites in india.
